Vacancy: Production Engineer

AllPro Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Production Engineer to join their Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on engineer who can work autonomously, identify manufacturing problems, establish the root cause and implement effective, lasting solutions.

Working just Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week, the role offers an excellent work-life balance alongside the opportunity to make a genuine impact on manufacturing performance.

The Role

As Production Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering and manufacturing challenges from initial investigation through to the successful implementation of solutions.

This is not simply an engineering support position. Our client is looking for someone who can identify opportunities, solve problems and deliver measurable improvements across the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, efficiency, quality and cost
• Take ownership of engineering problems from initial investigation through to completed solution
• Carry out structured root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Identify and resolve recurring production and manufacturing issues
• Improve manufacturing methods, processes and working practices
• Design, develop and improve tooling, jigs and fixtures
• Provide practical, hands-on engineering support to production teams
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify and deliver cost-reduction opportunities
• Develop and improve work instructions, manufacturing documentation and engineering standards
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, NPI and Supply Chain teams
• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of improvements to ensure they are sustained
• Support the introduction of new or improved manufacturing processes

About You

We are looking for an experienced Production, Manufacturing or Process Engineer with a proven track record of delivering improvements within a manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering
• Demonstrable experience improving manufacturing processes
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Experience carrying out root-cause analysis
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering
• Confidence working directly with shop-floor and production teams
• Experience working with engineering drawings
• Knowledge of tooling, jigs and fixtures
• Experience using CAD would be advantageous
• Strong continuous improvement and cost-reduction experience
• Good communication and project-management skills

Experience Over Qualifications

This is not a graduate or apprenticeship-level position.

Our client is looking for an experienced engineer who can demonstrate what they have successfully delivered within a manufacturing environment, rather than simply the qualifications they hold.

You should be comfortable being given a manufacturing problem, investigating the root cause and taking responsibility for developing and implementing the solution.

• £35,000–£40,000 per annum, depending on experience
